Construction of a new underpass bridge structure to carry the Cross City Railway line (Lichfield to Redditch) over the new Lichfield Southern Bypass Relief Road.
The works consisted in constructing the two ballast walls and the main Bridge Deck in a purpose made pre-cast yard laydown area to one side of the Cross City Railway line ready for installing during a Christmas possession. The Christmas possession was over a 48 hour period. The installation was completed within 43 hours, saving 5 hours on the Contract Programme.
